How Long Ted Has Been Telling His “How I Met Your Mother” Tale
When Ted Mosby's future self, Bob Saget, sat his children down to hear the story of how he met their mother, they had no idea what they were in for. The two youngsters, initially very vocal about their frustration and discontent, eventually turned into silent shells of their former selves- calmly and silently accepting their bleak fate.
I decided to try and figure out how long Ted-Bob has been subjecting his kids to this tale. And here's what I came up with when adding the runtimes of every episode in the six-season series.
These children were sat down to hear not a two hour story, not a twenty hour story, but a whopping FIFTY SIX hour behemoth!
That's enough time for me to drive from my home in Georgia across the country to Seattle, and then watch all six Star Wars movies, and then kill three hours wakeboarding on the Puget Sound. Do they wakeboard in Washington? I don't know. But I'm glad that if I wanted to find out, my dad wouldn't stop me at the door with a two day, eight hour long story.
